If you're like me, you grew up eating Ore-Ida Tater Tots. And if you're like me, you loved them. But now that I'm all grown up and trying to eat healthier, I've had to say goodbye to some of my favorite childhood foods. Or have I? Thanks to the air fryer, I can enjoy crispy air fryer tater tots without feeling guilty.

Tater tots are perfect for a quick snack or a tasty potato side dish with an incredible crunch.
No Shaking & No Preheating, Precise Temperature Control and Even Cooking Results
Whether you have a larger air fryer, such as the Cosori air fryer, or one of the smaller air fryers like a Bella, this is the quickest way to go from frozen tots to golden brown perfection in less than 15 minutes without the use of a deep fryer.
💭 Why You'll LOVE this Recipe
We love air frying because it is a great alternative to using a deep fryer and you can enjoy perfect tater tots any time you want them. The hot air method insures that you will have crispy (not soggy) tater tots without the use of any extra oil.
This was inspired by the easy recipe for the Best Air Fryer Frozen Steak Fries on my sister site, The How-To Home, and pairs well with chicken nuggets and a simple Layered Pea Salad or my Mom's recipe for Fresh Creamy Cucumber Salad making it a great addition to your quick meals rotation.

🥘 Ingredients

- Ore-Ida Tater Tots
For this easy recipe I used Ore Ida tater tots but if the extra cost is something you would like to avoid I've also used different brands and even some no name tater tots, i.e., store brands and I've always had the best results with the cook time and temp combination in the recipe card at the bottom of this page.
While the temperature and cooking time given are for tater tots specifically you can also use the information as a baseline to make potato puffs, tater puffs, tater rounds, tater crowns, potato gems, and potato royals which are all basically frozen tater tots but with different names.
🔪 Instructions

Start with a clean air fryer basket - no need to add oil or to spray with any cooking spray.

Place frozen tater tots in the basket of the air fryer in a single layer - no stacking!
About halfway through the cooking time - remove the basket and give the tater tots a good shake!

When the timer goes off, remove the basket from the air fryer, sprinkle with salt or any of your other favorite seasonings.

Serve and enjoy!

📖 Variations
Sprinkle with your favorite seasonings while still hot to lock in flavor.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce. Here are some ideas: barbecue sauce, ranch dressing, ketchup (of course!), and deli mustard just to name a few.
🍴 Equipment
A good air fryer - my favorites are Cosori and the Ninja Foodi which doubles as a pressure cooker.
